The first one is a cool ombre/watercolor-like effect I made using an embossed chevron background stamp and Tim Holtz Distress Inks. I've learned that watercolor paper is best for this technique! :) Such a fun card to make!
I love how the embossing acts as a resist to the ink! This is by far my favorite technique!
The second card is completely different! I was trying to think of how I could make a more "masculine" card. I grabbed my washi tape and got to work! I decided to use kraft paper for this card design. After laying down several thin strips of washi tape (this took forever!), I adhered it to my card base and added a "wishing you the happiest of birthdays" sentiment in tuxedo black ink from Memento.
