Today after subbing, I decided I wanted to experiment with my Distress Inks.
Uhh...no, I'm not obsessed or anything. ;) Seriously, if you haven't used Tim Holtz Distress Inks, you need to! They can help you create amazing backgrounds, extra details to your designs, and are SO much fun!
I thought it would be kinda cool to use an embossing folder AND Distress Inks together. My first thought was, "oh man, I am going to have a blended mess," but I was super pleased with the end result! Wouldn't this make a cool card background?! I used Tumbled Glass, Squeezed Lemonade, and Worn Lipstick in the bottom design.
For my next card, I put Squeezed Lemonade, Worn Lipstick, and Picked Raspberry in horizontal lines onto a large acrylic block. Then I misted it with a spray bottle and smushed it onto watercolor paper. To speed up the drying time, I hit it with my heat gun. Then I smushed the acrylic block with the leftover ink onto my watercolor piece again.
Below is after these steps:
Pretty cool huh? You could seriously use so many color options for this technique!! To finish off the card, I heat embossed a "so thankful for you" sentiment in white embossing powder, and added some sparkle with hot pink and clear gems. Finally, I adhered it to a white card base with Tombow Mono Multi Glue.
I just LOVE how this card turned out! :)
