Good Morning! I wanted to share more information and pictures about two of my favorite projects I have made. They both involve using Tim Holtz Distress Inks in different ways. The first one involves an entire background wash of blending Squeezed Lemonade, Worn Lipstick, and Picked Raspberry together using an acrylic block and lots of misting with water!
I repeated the "smushing" of the Distress Ink background several times until I reached the look I was going for. Once it was completely dry, I heat embossed the "so thankful for you" sentiment in white embossing powder.
I love adding gems to cards to add a little sparkle! To go with the bright pink ink, I added hot pink gems as well as clear ones so it wasn't too overpowering. I just love how this turned out! :)
My second favorite project is similar to the first one, but I changed up the design and colors a little bit. This is a card I made for my oldest sister's birthday that is coming up. She LOVES purples and blues so I tried to come up with a design that incorporated both of these colors.
For this card, I started with Tim Holtz Watercolor Paper to use as my card front that I later attached to a white card base. I took a clean paintbrush and spread lots of water towards the bottom right corner of my card. I "smushed" three Distress Ink colors on an acrylic block in separate piles: Dusty Concord, Milled Lavender, and Tumbled Glass and added a little bit of water to each of these piles.
I loaded up my paintbrush with Dusty Concord, and began to add color to my watercolor paper. Then, I switched over to Milled Lavender and added Tumbled Glass to achieve this look. It took some playing around for a little bit but it was a lot of fun! Once the card front was dry, I added the "Happy Birthday To You" sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and adhered a few clear gems to the front.
Both of these cards were so much fun to make! Love adding some homemade kindness to my friends and family! :)
